The vase is formed of four parts that stack with stable and precise interlocking. When closed, the piece works as a decorative object for tables and sideboards, or as a pot for flowers. When opened, the four parts become separate bowls and containers for fruit or other food. Each part is shaped on a lathe or in a plaster mold and then hand painted in the traditional Castelli style. The vase is dishwasher safe and can be fired at different temperatures for food use.
