U-Comfort Rattan Chair

Furniture Design U-Comfort Rattan Chair by Junge Chen U-Comfort is a rattan lounge chair intended for homes, beaches, resorts and other leisure settings. The overall form is round and smooth, with curved lines. A circular closed ring at the side of the chair acts as both a visual feature and a support structure. The frame is made from thick rattan that is bent by heating, and the joints are wrapped with rattan skin. The seating surface is woven by hand. Topology optimization software was used to refine the structure, so that material is used economically while the mechanical requirements of a seat are met.
