Classic New Chinese Style

Furniture Design Classic New Chinese Style by Wei Jingye / 魏靖野 Classic is a writing desk designed in a new Chinese style. The design adapts the raised end table form of traditional Chinese furniture, where the two raised ends reduce the chance of scrolls and other items falling from the surface. The desk is made of red oak, while cast iron forms the connections between the tabletop, the seat and the legs. A lower shelf adds storage space. The metal parts are shaped by computer controlled machining, and the curved sections are finished by hand. The desk top uses a traditional Chinese panel splicing method.
